Send Valentines Instead of Christmas Cards

Finished 2/22/17

This may seem wicked early, but I was looking over my list and at first I thought I might be able to bundle several of them in one or at least two.  One of my items is to write hand written notes to people that are important to me.  There is also, make something craftsy.  I thought I could make a craftsy V-Day card for people and include a note to people I care about.  I mean people hardly every get Valentine's day cards.  It just seems like it would make them happy.  I know I would be touched if I got a silly little card from a friend.  Then as I was looking at the cards I realized most of them dealt with love and romance, which of course caused me pause.  Now that I am writing it out though, maybe I could still pull it off.  I found a cute card I could make on the website below.  Yes, it's a kids craft, but who cares, the cheesier, the better.  Maybe I can write a short message on the back for those people who are extra important.

Another reason why I am starting now is that I will actually have to compile a list of people I'm sending to AND get their addresses.  This is no small feat.  It might take me until next February to pull that together.  I could also consider sending Thanksgiving cards and notes.  That makes more sense, but who needs to be logical.  I'll start working on my address book tomorrow.  And I'm going to add number 11 and number 12 to this one...at least number 11.

7/19/16 Changed my mind again.  I think sending Valentine's Day cards to friends and family is a sweet idea, but it just doesn't seem like the right time to say thank you.  I'm going to try to tie in Thanksgiving for that.  I modified the template from the website and just made it way more simple.  I'm pleased with my finished product.  Now I just have to think of things to write in it.  I bet there's a website for that too. Yep, there are several.  I just linked the Hallmark site.  Surely they know what the hell they are doing.

8/20/16 I've made a list of the people I want to send cards to and I think I've made enough cards.  I just need to put them in a place I will remember them.  That would be tragic to lose them.

11/28/16 I have not made a lot of these, but I bet I have made enough to send to my most dearest and preciousest friends and family. Sometimes less is more.

1/31/17 So who should I send to? I should actually put this task on my calendar so I don't forget the cards I've already made. I've only made a handful, but I don't think that is important.

2/1/17 I've made my list and gathered my addresses.

2/5/17 I only had three envelopes, but I did address those. Also, I filled out the center of the valentines and only screwed one of them up, but it was salvageable. I was going to make my envelopes, but I think I will just buy them. I would have to get stickers to put on the envelopes if I made them. Too much work.

2/9/17 Found a new post office today very close to the boy's school, which was a plus because now I can send Jeremy's box off tomorrow morning after I drop them off and I got some very pretty heart stamps. Walked into the fake post office close to our house and the don't even sell stamps. Not a post office! Now the letters are in the mailbox waiting to make my friends and family smile for Valentine's day and who doesn't need a smile on V-Day?

2/10/17 All Valentine's Days cards and gifts have officially left the building. Austin will even get a special treat because his well worn hat is in the mail. Bringing a little bit of joy to the world this year.

2/22/17 Loved making the cards and hearing from people who enjoyed them. Made me want to come up with cards for another holiday that you usually don't get a card for and send those out. Maybe Fat Tuesday. Nobody would suspect that.
