Started 7/18/16
I sent him a Facebook message. I know, that is pitiful. I'm going to have to break down and get his phone number or email from my mom. She'll wonder what I'm up to. I'll wait to see if he replies to my message before a go crazy like that. The last time I saw my step-brother was at my step-dad's funeral. I really do not expect to see him again until my mom passes and he gets some of the money from the sell of the house, which he owns half of because Dad didn't write a will. I have absolutely no reason to go to Midland, TX, but I tell you what, if for any unthinkable reason I am ever there. I will do my darndest to look him up and hug his neck. For now a Facebook post is what he gets.
8/2/16 Have not heard back from David. I think I may have to try another method of getting in touch. Maybe I can simply look him up in the "phone book."... Well, that was easy. I just googled him and there was his address. I guess I just need to send him an actual letter. That's a crazy idea. I also got a phone number. I should just try to text him first. OK, the number is not a cell number because the text did not go through. I'll write a letter and send it. No big deal if I don't get anything back. It's worth a try.
8/6/16 Hey, I got a reply from David via Facebook. I was surprised. It wasn't in depth, but it was something. Keeps the lines of communication open.
8/24/17 Well, I can still make this one happen this year. Looks like it has been a whole year since I contacted David, but he has recently been active on Facebook posting vacation pictures, so I am going to shoot him and note and then plan to send another around Thanksgiving or Christmas.
1/1/18 David has been posting more on Facebook so I've been able to follow along with him that way. He has posted quite a few pictures with his son and lots of Dallas Cowboys themed posts. Sent a Happy New Year message.
3/24/18 Ahead of the game. Just sent David a howdy doody.
8/11/18 David posted a pic of a new pool so I sent him a message just to touch base. He seems to be doing well. Always good to touch base.
